About
The Hollywood Bowl is the largest natural amphitheater in the United States and the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Since 1922, this hillside venue has hosted everyone from The Beatles and Frank Sinatra to today’s biggest touring acts, all under the open sky. The acoustics, the views, and the tradition of bringing your own picnic and wine make a night here one of the defining LA experiences.
Getting there
The Bowl sits on a dead-end road in the Hills, and roughly 17,500 people arrive in the same short window, so how you get there matters as much as where you sit. Most on-site parking is “stacked,” which means you can get blocked in for an hour or more after the show. Our full guide to Hollywood Bowl parking, shuttles, and the Metro breaks down every option, the current prices, and the fastest way back out. Planning to picnic? Our Hollywood Bowl picnic guide covers what you can bring and the BYO food and wine rules. When you are ready to plan more nights out, browse all our LA venue guides.

Seating & Venue Layout
The Hollywood Bowl features tiered seating across multiple sections with a capacity of approximately 17,500. The Pool Circle offers the closest seats to the stage with premium dining service. Garden Boxes provide semi-private spaces with table service, followed by Terrace Boxes with similar amenities further back. Super Seats (sections H, J1, G1) offer padded seats with backs in the promenade area. The upper sections feature traditional wooden bench seating, perfect for those on a budget. Large video screens on both sides of the stage ensure visibility from every seat. Seat cushions are available for rent at just $1 from ushers.
