Dear LA STAGE Alliance Community,
Due to the economic impact of COVID-19, LA STAGE Alliance is implementing measures to ensure the financial stability of the company. The current pandemic situation has impacted our operations and services significantly, and as a result, we find that we must furlough our staff for the time being.
During this time, LASA will also undergo organizational restructuring and reflection taking into consideration the various social issues facing our community and stakeholders so we can work towards a more inclusive and equitable model. We will continue with minimal programming to support our members and stakeholders, our website OnStage.LA will continue to operate and be accessible to all organizations that wish to list their events and we will continue our work with local, state, and federal agencies while also focusing on the sustainability of the sector as a whole through reopening.
LASA’s operations and programming will be re-evaluated to ensure equity, diversity, and inclusion are included in our organization staff, board, and programming. During this period, all membership and voter fees will be suspended until further notice. The Ovation Awards will still celebrate the 2019-2020 season via a virtual ceremony, and additional details will follow.
LA STAGE Alliance has been part of the LA Theatre Community for over 45 years and will continue to serve its members, voters, and stakeholders in this new era of theatre creation. We look forward to a better future and still believe in the resilience and innovation of theatre in Los Angeles.
We firmly believe this is just an intermission, and we hope to be back with you all soon.
